Aha oe feii (1892) by Paul Gauguin

Aha Oe Feii is a Post-Impressionist painting by the renowned French artist Paul Gauguin, created in 1892. The artwork depicts two sisters lying on the shore of Tahiti after bathing, based on an actual incident Gauguin experienced during his stay in Tahiti. The painting is now housed at the Pushkin Museum of Fine Arts in Moscow, Russia.

Gauguin utilized a plate of glass to create monotypes for some of his works, including Aha oe feii. His experimentation with coloring and expression paved the way for the Synthetist style of modern art and Primitivism. The piece has been subject to different interpretations, with some viewing the artist as a bohemian renegade and others as a fraudulent artist exploiting the myth of the noble savage.
